Kismet Productions, Seattle WA
Consultant

  • Consultant for an upcoming romantic comedy

Margaret Weis Productions, Lake Geneva, WI
Producer

  • Producer for a mockumentary-style promotional video that will accompany a role playing game distributed by a major book and game publishing company.
  • Responsible for overseeing all departments, securing equipment, and the hiring of select crew, staff, and talent
  • Handled all legal and contractual matters; secured permits and insurance from all pertinent agencies
  • Performed line producer duties while in production; performed miscellaneous duties as needed.

"Strictly Sex With Dr. Drew", North Hollywood CA
Associate Producer/Segment Producer

  • Segment producer/Associate Producer for the popular Discovery Health show, "Strictly Sex With Dr. Drew" (Weller/Grossman Productions).
  • Responsible for producing one or more individual segments of a multi-segment production.
  • Contributed story ideas at editorial meetings; asked to write short-form and interview content under deadline pressure for a weekly studio show. 
  • Generated original segment concepts and tasked with seeing them through to completion
  • Prescreening segment participants when applicable; researched, field produced, wrote, and post produced individual segments on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.  
  • Recognized for my proven ability to complete my projects under deadline and under budget.
  • Team player; performed miscellaneous job duties as requested.

Dead Gentlemen Productions (DG), Tacoma WA
Production and Development

  • Developed and produced narrative properties in the media arts that celebrate one's inner geek.
  • Worked alongside company executives to ensure DG becomes a legitimate force in the world of independent film, both through establishing strong relationships with traditional production houses and distributors and through innovating in the burgeoning world of digital marketing and delivery.
  • Planned, facilitated and coordinated the duties necessary to support Dead Gentlemen’s core business operation; Ran and/or participated in development meetings with our writers, in-house talent, and production team to develop future narrative projects.
  • Was part of a team/company whose success included:
    • A world-wide fan base
    • Over a 300% monetary return on all of the films/shorts we've created thus far.
    • The creation and execution of video podcasts (released on DG's website and Apple's iTunes) that were downloaded off iTunes at a rate of 7000 an episode.
    • A mobile media distribution deal with an established Los Angeles company.
    • Completing an HD feature film slated for festival, cable, video rental, retail and/or online sales distribution.

“Dorkness Rising: The Gamers, Second Edition” (GDR), Tacoma WA
Producer

  • Producer for a feature-length film that parodied fantasy films and the adventure gaming community.
  • Utilized my knowledge of story, structure, and character development to finalize the shooting script with Writer/Director Matt Vancil.
  • Significantly raised production value by securing the use of an HD camera; responsible for the hiring of select crew, staff, and talent.
  • Collaborated with the other Producers to certify the final production budget, oversee all departments, and handle all legal and contractual matters.
  • Oversaw the Marketing/PR department; was responsible for acquiring television and newspaper press, creating a behind-the-scenes featurette, several teaser posters, and a promotional website.
  • Innovative fundraiser: In addition to private investors, was part of a team that raised over $17,000 via product placement with prominent companies in the gaming industry.
  • Coordinated and collaborated with other gaming companies to create merchandise tie-ins such as official miniatures (distributed by Magnificent Egos), a role playing game book (published by Goodman Games), and a Mudhollow Inn Map (published by Dark Furies).
  • Worked alongside our executive producers to coordinate GDR's distribution strategy; was responsible for suggesting and taking steps to ensure we obtained cable, video rental, retail and/or online sales distribution.
  • Team player; performed miscellaneous job duties as requested.
  • Was asked to become part of the production company's development team upon completion of this project.

Script Consultant, Seattle WA & Los Angeles CA
Editor/Consultant

  • Work alongside screenwriters to edit and polish their screenplays.
  • Attention is paid to premise, story line, structure, character development and dialogue; the overall structure of the story as well as individual scenes and lines are analyzed and critiqued in detail.
  • Perform strategy sessions in which the work's commercial viability and distribution strategy are analyzed at length
  • Assist writers with creating treatments, bibles, synopsis and pitches when requested.

TheWarrenReport, Seattle, WA
Project Coordinator

  • Project coordinator for a prominent Seattle organization that sponsors and organizes movie-related events in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Responsible for planning, facilitating, and coordinating work on multiple film-related projects.
  • Significantly increased revenue through the execution of a complete website overhaul, internship program, and first-ever membership drive.
  • Greeted, assisted, and facilitated requests for select guests of TheWarrenReport; Represented the organization at industry dinners.
  • Performed miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Various Short Films (“Drunk Dialing," "Cops & Robbers," "Chocolate") Los Angeles CA & Seattle WA
Producer

  • Producer for a number of short films
  • Utilized my knowledge of story, structure, and character development to finalize shooting scripts.

SciFi Channel, Universal City, CA
Development Executive Assistant
  • Selected from over 400 applicants to assist Zig Gauthier, Vice President of Alternative Programming.
  • Provided opportunities to sit-in and participate at development meetings, writer meetings (Battlestar Galactica & USA's Monk), show pitches, story pitches, and conference calls.
  • Read scripts; provided coverage to help determine which scripts should be acquisitioned and/or developed.
  • Provided traditional staff support as requested.

"Berman & Berman," North Hollywood, CA
Production Intern

  • Summer internship for the Discovery Health cable show “Berman & Berman" (Weller/Grossman Productions).
  • Provided traditional staff support by transcribing tapes, helping out on location and studio shoots, and calling local businesses to facilitate PA's when requested
  • Creative participant in segment brainstorming sessions, researched topics for upcoming segments, and worked alongside producers to ensure all presenter's dialogue was informative yet entertaining.
  • Towards the end of the internship, was the only intern given PA responsibilities and offered a PA job for the cable show “Berman & Berman."

Owner & Moderator
  • Creator and moderator of a 2000+ member film e-newsletter in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Disseminated information regarding film-related seminars, festivals, free movie screenings, meet and greets, and provided information and reviews of select films as well.
  • Coordinated with publicists/publicity firms such as Nancy Locke, Allied McDonald Entertainment, and Terry Hines and Associates to market and publicize select screenings.
